“I am simply amazed to find myself living on a ball of rock that swings around an immense spherical fire. I am more amazed that I am a maze—a complex wiggliness, an arabesque of tubes, filaments, cells, fibers, and films that are various kinds of palpitation in this stream of liquid energy.“
– Alan Watts

Artist Statement
Michie is an emerging ceramic artist creating functional and practical objects inspired by the natural world, elemental forms, and imagined fantasy realms. Their work explores the intersection of utility and creativity, transforming everyday vessels and objects into pieces that feel as though they belong to a world just beyond our own.
They are particularly drawn to geological forms, natural textures, ancient and medieval-inspired motifs, and the emotional language of the elements. Through functional ceramics, they aim to make objects that are not only useful in daily life but also encourage a sense of connection to nature and imagination.
